Hornbach: 17th location in Enschede Opens
On the morning of the 30th of March at 07:00 HORNBACH opened the doors of its newest project construction market in Enschede. It is the seventeenth branch in total, and the largest in the province of Overijssel. With an area of 17,000 m2, it is a huge asset for do-it-yourselfers and construction professionals in the region and across the border. In the meantime, hard work is continuing on further expansions and new branches.
The newly opened HORNBACH Enschede is the second in the province of Overijssel and follows number sixteen, which was opened in Apeldoorn at the end of October 2021. In the meantime, the project construction market continues to gain momentum: preparations for the construction of the eighteenth branch, in Nijmegen, are in full swing. And at the end of last year, HORNBACH also introduced the new retail concept Floors, with the ambition of multiple locations. General manager Evert de Goede is proud of this growth, and as always of the latest project construction market in particular, “certainly of all colleagues who have worked hard in recent months to set up the Enschede location.”
Organic growth
Karin Dohm, the German CFO of HORNBACH Baumarkt AG, was also present at the festive opening, which was co-sponsored by mayor Roelof Bleker of Enschede. She stated: “HORNBACH continues to grow successfully in the Netherlands, constantly and at an impressive pace. The branch in Enschede is not only our seventeenth Dutch DIY store with a garden centre: it is also our eighth opening in seven years. We want to continue that organic growth, because we see that our popularity among Dutch customers remains high and because sales here continue to develop very well – also compared to the industry.”
